Sr. Project Manager

We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager, reporting to the Vice President-Infrastructure in our New Jersey office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the projects to meet project goals and objectives.
  2. Assign, manage, and perform project work including scope, schedule, and budget and produce accurate and timely financial and project reporting and client deliverables as required.
  3. Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating projects, including the investigation, development, and approaches for the project.
  4. Participate in developing proposals, including technical design and cost estimates and participate in client presentations to secure new work.
  5. Seal drawings as required.
  6. Ensure managers and engineers/designers are following relevant federal, state, local, and industry standards.
  7. Analyze and review the design requirements to ensure match with customers' specifications.
  8. Enforce QA/QC policies, and identify possible quality and safety issues within the scope of the project in order to fulfill project-related contractual requirements.
  9. Perform site investigations as required.
  10. Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications, and structural repairs.
  11. Review and approve designs developed by staff.

Required Minimum Education, Licenses & Work Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).
  2. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  3. 10 to 15 years progressively responsible experience working on major transportation infrastructure projects.
  4. Proven experience and demonstrated ability to perform duties.
  5. Strong management and leadership skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage all financial aspects of major projects.
  7. Experience managing multiple resources (employees and sub-consultants) to deliver projects within guidelines.
  8. Effective client management skills.
  9. Ability to:
    1. Make decisions and recommendations that are considered authoritative on issues that have an extensive impact.
    2. Solve complex technical design problems.
    3. Make independent judgments on engineering problems and methods.
  10. Proficiency in the following software programs: MS Excel, Word, and Outlook; AutoCAD; a project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or SureTrak; and ability to quickly learn software programs.
  11. Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally to all SYSTRA office locations, including being assigned to project offices, if applicable.

Desired Education, Licenses & Work Experience

  1. PMP Certification.
  2. MS in relevant engineering field.
  3. Leadership role in a relevant professional organization.
